Exercising

Trust the award winning Six C’s to develop and coordinate your next emergency exercise.

Exercising is an integral part of preparing your team to ensure that systems and processes are tested before a real emergency occurs. The Six C’s can develop and coordinate a tailored exercise scenario that meets your needs and builds staff confidence in performing their role.

The Six C’s have won awards for our realistic and comprehensive exercises conducted in simulated emergency conditions. Our exercises are based on the practical experiences we have gained as first responders and leaders during a variety of large scale emergencies. We run exercises in real time in a supportive environment that encourages participation from all participants.

In 2018 our multi-agency field exercise, exercise “Poldark” was awarded a Highly Commended certificate from LG Pro. LG Pro recognises excellence in local government.

When designing and delivering exercises we:

  • Ensure plans are tested and not people
  • Design inputs that are realistic to the scenario
  • Use actors where relevant to increase the experiences of participants
  • Provide a supportive and safe environment in which to learn

Importantly, our organisation uses a trauma informed approach to our work acknowledging that an individual is more likely than not to have a history of trauma.  By appreciating that participating under simulated emergency conditions may trigger a memory of previous trauma we provide all participants with a kit that details the early signs of a triggering event, and includes strategies to assist participants experiencing a triggering event.

From seminars right through to field exercises we can plan and coordinate an exercise that meets your organisations needs.

Exercises for local government include, but are not limited to:

  • Activating an Emergency Relief Centre
  • Activating a Municipal Operations Centre
